On 26 October, the hostel staff held a surprise Matric Dinner for the hostel matrics at Waterloo House.

This is an annual event that is held to celebrate the matrics for being such a powerful and vital force within the hostel structure and carving a way for those who remain. It is also intended to wish them luck for the upcoming exams and congratulate them for having made it thus far.
The learners played fun games, had numerous failed attempts at TikTok dances, and there was an award ceremony towards the end of the evening. The awards were based on nominations and votes by Grade 10 and 11 hostelites. Lastly, the matrics closed their evening by writing a ‘note to self’ in their new shimmery notebooks. It was definitely a night to remember!
A special thanks to Ms Monguni and Ms Maseti who organised the gifts and turned the hostel common room into a stunning venue. Feedem ensured the evening was a success with their wholesome three-course meal.
