On 25 October 2023, Wynberg Girls’ High School celebrated Ms McCarthy’s legacy by partnering with NAPTOSA to spread awareness about the different types of cancers. Following the Cancer Awareness Colour Chart, we learned that cancer types are represented by different ribbon colours. Our learners and staff wore clothing in various colours to represent and raise awareness for a particular cancer that has impacted their lives, or the lives of someone they may know. Colourful cupcakes were sold in order to raise funds for a local non-profit organisation dedicated to cancer support. Thank you to everyone who participated and to those who worked hard behind the scenes to make this meaningful day possible.
