Peer Promoters
As the ambassadors for the Western Cape Blood Service, we are responsible for promoting blood donations and educating learners, in order to ensure that we work to the best of our ability. Our aim is to promote blood donations and to offer our peers the best support and comfort should they be concerned about the thought of scary needles!
On Thursday, 19 October, a few members attended a training session at the WCBS head offices where we were educated on spreading and promoting blood donations amongst our peers and hopefully clearing the stigma of ‘losing most of your blood’ or any of the myths surrounding donations. We work with extremely qualified staff who ensure the utmost safety of all donors. We have blood drives taking place at our school campus every term. If you are 16 years old and above, we encourage and look forward to seeing you at the blood drive on 3 November!
We are also very proud that the peer promoter team has expanded for 2024. Thanks to everyone who has volunteered for this worthy and essential cause.
