Over the weekend of 21-22 October, the WGHS Water Polo first team participated in the Stayers Cup in Somerset West. This is the youngest team Wynberg has seen in years, with two Grade 8s, six Grade 9s, four Grade 10s and one Grade 11. The goal of the tournament was to learn and to gain experience – and our goal was definitely achieved! If you watched any of the games you would have seen a team who were committed to doing their best for one another, you would have seen tremendous enthusiasm from the side lines, as well as determination to fight through the extreme winds on the Saturday and the intense heat on the Sunday. They didn’t give up. We are incredibly proud of them all and we are looking forward to the season ahead. “
